Pipeline, UK review Penguin or Robot?

Pipeline Instrumental Review, Spring 2015 issue 97 Canada’s Urban Surf Kings are led by Mike Diabo and this is their 12th release.  The EP comes with a code to enable you to download the four tracks plus four more as listed above.  The title track sets the style as it races away with its classy reverb twang, saying it all in a punchy and engaging two minutes.  Agent 6K6 is similarly concise if less attractive, but Quick Draw Norman is more descriptive and all the better for it, a fine western-tinged theme, while Last Chance for Clams is a very pleasant traditional surfer.  The download only tracks don’t have such a rich sound apart from the unedited 4.5 minute version of Quick Draw Norman which fully justifies its presence as the USKs extemporize on the theme – Alan Taylor
